Privacy policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

This policy explains what Project Arthouse ("we", "us") collects when you use this website or get in touch with us, and what we do with it. It is written to be read, so it is short.

What we collect

  • What you send us. When you use the brief form, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your name, your contact details, whatever you tell us about your project, and any file you choose to attach.
  • What you give us for an occasion website. Photos, names, dates and messages you send so we can build the page you ordered.
  • What a web server records. Like any website, the service that hosts this site keeps basic logs such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We also use your IP address to limit how many briefs one connection can send in an hour.

What is kept in your browser

The site remembers four small things on your own device: whether you chose light or dark mode, which currency you chose on the rate card, whether you have visited before (so the opening line changes after your first visit), and whether you have already seen the opening animation in this visit. None of them is sent to us. Before you choose a currency, the site reads your device's time zone setting to decide which one to show first; that also stays on your device. When the brief form is connected to our server, one strictly necessary cookie protects the form against forged submissions. It holds a random value, identifies nobody and expires within a day. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

What we do not do

  • We run no advertising or tracking scripts.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
  • We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
  • We do not show your occasion website, photos or messages to anyone as a sample without your permission.

How we use what you send

We use your details to reply to you, prepare a proposal, deliver the work you commission and keep the records a business is required to keep.

Your private brief link

After you send a brief through our server you are shown a private link to view it. Anyone who has that link can read the brief, so keep it to yourself. We store only a scrambled form of the key in that link and cannot recover it for you.

Who else handles it

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the studio, such as website hosting, email, WhatsApp if you message us there, and the image services that deliver our logo and photographs (Cloudinary and Unsplash), which see your IP address when your browser loads an image. The birthday sample also loads one moving picture from Giphy, which sees your IP address when you open that page. They process data only as needed to provide their service.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to reply and follow up. Project records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records, and then deleted. Material for an occasion website is kept while the page is live and removed when you ask.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@projectarthouse.com and we will act on it within a reasonable time, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
